Fink School of Traditional Art

The Fink School of Traditional Art began in 1965 by Maryland artist Paula Fink. For over 60 years we have taught thousands of students from ages 8-adult the classical techniques of drawing and painting. Second generation artist Alan Fink (alanfink.com) began teaching in 1980 and currently is director of the school located in historic Reisterstown.
Students begin with charcoal in order to learn how to use light and shadow in order to create a system of values. We then follow a system of soft pastel into oil painting that is based on each students’ individual progression. Instruction is individual within the group and students work at their own comfortable pace. Whether you are a total beginner or have had instruction in the past, we can help you reach your artistic goals!
